Travel Info

By Air

Montreal's airport is Pierre-Elliot Trudeau (YUL), located about 30 minutes from downtown.

Taxis charge a 40$ flat rate to the downtown area.  The best way to get into town is the 747 Express bus. The price is 10$, which gives you a 24-hour pass on all Montreal public transit, which you can purchase on the bus (coins only) or inside the airport. Depending on how long you will be in Montreal, you could also consider a 3-day pass ($18), which is also valid for the 747 bus.

By Bus

The bus terminal Station Centrale is located at Berri-UQAM metro, only 4 or 5 metro stops away from the conference venue. Several bus companies go to Montreal from both Canada and the US, including Greyhound and Megabus.

By Train

Montreal's Gare Centrale is in the heart of downtown, just 6 blocks away from the conference venue. It is serviced by Amtrak for US destinations and ViaRail for Canadian ones.

By Car

It is possible to travel to and around Montreal, but keep in mind some practical information:

  • Street parking near the conference is 3$ per hour, for a maximum of 2 hours (at which point you must go pay again).

  • There are many parking lots nearby which charge 10-20$ for a whole day of parking.
